Washington State Apple Health Care Authority

Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) provides funding and oversight for mental health services for people enrolled in Apple Health (Medicaid). Behavioral health covers prevention, treatment, and recovery services for both mental health and substance use disorders. Services are available for working families, children, pregnant women, individual adults, and seniors. You can learn more about specific behavioral health benefits in this section. If you qualify for Adams County, WA Apple Health, you also qualify for behavioral health services. You and your family have access to mental health, substance use disorder, and recovery support, including housing and employment resources.

Washington State Community Connectors We are a family-driven community of support for caregivers of children with a range of behavioral health needs, including mental health and substance use, as well as other disabilities and challenges within the educational and judicial systems and more. We empower families by providing training on systems in Washington state, including system navigation, leadership skills, and advocacy. This helps create better access to local health, education, and judicial systems for their children and the family as a whole, connecting them to the resources and knowledge that will allow them to be better advocates for their own family members and the community.

Mental Health Matters of Washington State Mental health is the foundation for our well-being and overall health. As the saying goes, “There is no health without mental health.” It is intertwined with so many other dimensions of our lives, including the physical, social, intellectual, spiritual, and economic. Mental Health Matters (MHM) of Washington State is a community-based, grant funded program sponsored by Skagit Public Health, North Sound Accountable Communities of Health, and the University of Washington Bothell. Our program is evidence-based and applies culturally informed strategies to mobilize and to train Peer Mental Health Navigators (PMHNs) to promote mental health within their communities by connecting individuals, families, and caregivers to the resources, expertise, and care they need to thrive.

Washington Council for Behavioral Health

Member agencies of the Washington Council for Behavioral Health provide a full range of community outpatient services all across Washington State, from Vancouver to Colville. Our members serve over 100,000 very low-income individuals each year, primarily adults with serious mental illness and children or youth with severe emotional disturbances. All members are licensed by the state to provide community mental health services; most are also dually licensed to provide outpatient substance use disorder treatment. Washington Council member agencies are primarily non-profit community-based organizations or county-based service entities.
